In the 7th book of the Shopaholic series, Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) is taking over Hollywood – home of all the rich and famous stars in America! Her husband Luke got a new job in L.A. and is the new manager of famous movie star Sage Seymour. Becky is seeking for a career as personal stylist for the movie stars in Hollywood and hopes to soon get in touch with all the stars on the red carpet. But the so thought glamorous Hollywood seems to be more difficult and complicated than expected and luckily her best friend Suze comes over with her family to keep her company. As usual Beck is getting confronted with some very funny but also awkward situations which she, however, manage to resolve somehow.

My opinion
I was very thrilled when I’ve got the message that I was selected as a reader for this book here on Lovelybooks. I’ve read all the books about Becky and really adore the Shopaholic series.
The first chapters of the book Shopaholic to the stars were marvelous. You felt straight from the beginning on familiar with the characters again – even if it was a longer time since I’ve read the last book. I was having such a good laugh. Becky was back again and it seemed as nothing had changed. You might think she’s a crazy and a naïve woman but she touches your heart within only a few minutes! And Sophie Kinsella has the talent to describe all these situations so detailed and precise that you think you’re in there in the situation with Becky. But already in the second part of the book the story somehow lost its flow, magic and entertainment. I would have wished that Becky’s friend Danny Kovitz would have had a higher importance in this story – I mean we are talking about Hollywood: home of all stars – a star designer like Danny could have had a funny and great role together with Becky while aiming for her career as a personal stylist for the stars. What I liked was the story about Becky’s dad who from one day to another pack his bags and flights over to L.A., while looking out for an old friend without telling someone. It’s though a pity that Sophie Kinsella leaves us with so many unanswered questions at the end of the book. In my opinion the books isn’t at all finished and it’s for sure, that an eight book is to be published sooner or later. Nevertheless, the book was ok but not to that exciting compare to the other ones.

Conclusion
This book didn’t fulfill my expectations but I can still recommend it to all of you who like the stories about Beck Brandon and wants to know how she is coping with her new life in Los Angeles. You won’t get to read about to many new or surprising things about Beck in this seventh adventure - it’s more an amusing entertainment but which will leave you with a lot of unanswered questions.
