Hi, I'm Allen Zadoff, author of the Boy Nobody series.  Boy Nobody is a teen assassin, a trained killer who in the course of a mission begins to wake up to his humanity and question his allegiance to the shadowy organization he works for called The Program.

The inspiration for the series came from the character himself. My novels often begin when a character appears suddenly in my head. In this case he told me he was a teen soldier who moved from place to place on a never-ending mission, fitting in everywhere but belonging nowhere. When I asked him his name, he said he didn't have one.

And so,  boy Nobody was born.

I hope you enjoy the book. I can't wait to read your questions and comments.

Hello,

I would love to participate the reading cirlce because I find the story very fascinating.
I think an evil/bad protagonist can be very interesting. I also like the good guys but sometimes they are a bit boring :-P
Very interesting but also very creepy was Hannibal Lector in The Silence of the Lambs.

Why, this is a plot that sounds very, very intriguing. I don't like the really bad guys in books/movies, but I do love the guys that are torn and have to fight to do the right thing, no matter the costs. (Such as Severus Snape in the HP-series, you know?) I think "Boy nobody" is such a guy, and I would love to participe in the reading circle.

I'm glad that there will be two more books about Boy Nobody 'cause it was extremely exciting to get to know him and I would love to read more about his further development.

I apologize for posting this late. My first copy got lost in the mail and then I was in hospital. Although all of you have finished it already, I will tell you about my impressions. :)

The whole book starts with a bang. The protagonist is killing the father of his best friend and we learn that all he did had only one purpose: to gain the trust of Jack in order to fulfill his job - assassinate Jack's father.

We also learn a little bit about his history, how he lost his parents and how he met Mike who introduced him to this "lifestyle".

I really like the writing style. It's fast and we learn a lot about the boy, even though his actions say that he's a brutal killing machine. I also liked the idea of using the iPhone and an app as ways of communicating with his "mother".

I think it's sick and twisted that he calls his employers mom and dad, although it is the perfect cover. Still. He's living a lonely life and he doesn't seem to be very happy.

His new jobs seems to be pretty unusual. Only five days to get the job done AND he has to befriend a girl? Not just any girl: the daughter of the mayor of New York City. Whoa.

I admit, I was hooked. I did have a few questions about his "education" as an assassination and such, but all in all it was a nice start. :)

Okay, Nobody works fast. Scoring an invitation to Sam's place was a bit too easy in my opinion, but I'll just go with it.

He didn't kill the mayor even though he had an excellent chance. It seems like his conscience can't be surpressed any longer. I like that. I'm also very fond of Howard, he's a nice character and I have a feeling that he and Nobody could actually be friends and that he's not only using poor Howard for his insider knowledge (e.g. Sam's ex) and his hacker skills.

I also found it a bit unrealistic that he didn't have any problems getting into the part of the apartment where the mayor is and that they actually talked. I do understand it for dramatic reasons, nevertheless I have problems buying it.

Then the strangers who attack nobody. I'm not too fond that they speak Arabic. It seems to me that most conspiracy theories nowaday have to do something with Arabic-speaking people. Again, Nobody is going against his employers because he lies to them and doesn't give them all the info.

A lot of action, but to me it seems a bit too rushed in places, especially the relationships between characters, e.g. Sam and Nobody or Howard and Nobody. I do understand why it's necessary plotwise (Nobody has this five-day-deadline), but to me it also makes the story a bit too unrealistic at this point. Nevertheless, it's good entertainment and I wanted to know more about Sam and why the mayor needs to be killed.

Oh. The mayor is no longer the target for our little assassin after he failed to kill him for the second time. Now his new target is Sam?! That's trange. But it was also a nice plot twist and I was guessing it has something to do with her mom and/or ex-boyfriend Howard mentioned earlier. Hm.

A nice read so far, short chapters make it easy just to keep on reading!

I also think it might have been a mistake that Nobody told his "parents" that he would like to visit them after all this time. They surely must know that something is up with him.

Part 4: S.249 bis Ende

Quite a nice ending. Pretty Sam turned out to be the bad "'guy" and our Nobody, Zach, has to kill her. I wasn't too sure if he would be able to go through with it, but he did it. But you can see that killing people is getting harder and harder for him and that it's finally taking his toll. I like that at least his friendship with Howard seems to be real and the he seems to finally have a person in his life again who likes him for who is and whom he can trust. :)

I like that we aren't left with a cliffhanger but that there's still potential to learn more about Zach. I will definitely continue reading this series because apart from a few things I mentioned earlier, I quite liked this book. :)
