Annika Thomas

Annika Thomas grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, and graduated from Beckmans College of Design. At the top of a career as head of design for a large clothing company, a decision to resign gained momentum. Annika went on a quest to explore how clothes could be developed to be truly beneficial - for the wearer, the environment as well as for cultural development. This eventually lead to a new job description as a holistic designer. Annika has written several books about her work. While continuing to be intrigued by human growth and the devel-opment of culture, Annika keeps experimenting with the design of garments and fabric patterns. She feels most at ease in her studio - sewing, creating patterns, knitting and weaving - while pondering life's big questions.
