Avril Ashton, known for her bestselling books, has produced a fantastical series that features paranormal beings. As readers, we have to joy to watch the members of the Council`s killing squad fall in love. It is a somewhat chliché topic, but the stories are not and they are very entertaining to read. I would recommend the series. All books can also be read as standalones.

The darkness that is described in the other Avril Ashton books doesn´t disapoint to appear in this one. The characters are just as unique, the story just as troublesome and detailed. I loved it. All of us wanted to know the story behind Dutch, should we have stumbled upon one of the other books concerning the series. And here it is!
I love, how the author always manages to connect seemingly non-existent lines into a good ending.
However, violence and death are just as daily a occurence as you imagine a serial killer/agent/ something series to be.
Gruesome, but great.

I got this books among others through a kindle unlimited subscription, and did not recognize it as part of the series at first. It clicked with the mention of Donovan Citron and Dutch.
So, to the subject. This book is a great one. There is as much danger and adventure and life-threatening as in the first loose ends book, but it bears more deep feelings and treats the line between sanity and reality more carefully. In my opinion, it is better than the other one. I also liked that the secrets of Dutch are finally lifted for just a bit before they settle back into place.
The book is also, howewer, not a story for the soft-hearted.
