The love story about Maverick and Clover is told from both POVs in the first person, which helped me much better to understand their feelings and actions from their perspectives.
I had a few very emotional outbreaks while reading/listening because it really hit me hard some times (and there's definitely no pun intended). I skin was so thin on certain aspects of the story that I made a much deeper connection to the characters of this book. I can honestly say that Mavericks and Clovers story is a little of emotional and very deep.
I like that Maverick got a lot of more layers than I expected from the previous books (Lues, Hearts & Truths- and Pucked series) it makes him more relatable and swoon worthy. I like so much how he evolved from the beginning till the end of the book. He's smart, charismatic and lovable. I could totally figure him out and all of his actions were in alignment with his feelings. That's what I really like about Maverick.
Clover had been and still is through a lot at the beginning of the story and by reading/listening to her POV makes it more clearer why she's acting the way she is. I felt that she was well described and that all the situations were realistic. I was there at every single moment and felt everything that happened to her. The tears wouldn't stop falling and at the same time they healed something inside me I wasn't even adamant of needing it. So yes, Clover is reliable as a character.
Maverick and Clover evolved individually and as a couple. I say they have the same amount of individual evolution.
The spice is on level and underlines their evolution as a couple. Spice-Level: 3/5
And to not forget: The cameo of Lavender & Kodiak and the one of Alex and Violett. Loved them.
Ebook:
For all the non native English readers, this is an easy to follow book you could enjoy.
Audiobook:
The narrators nailed it perfectly. The voices were like made to put Clover and Maverick into life. I could easily follow the narration and even non native English listeners could enjoy this audio book.
Conclusion:
This book feels like a healing session with a therapist. Some heavy and light stuff with a lot of emotions bubbling up.

Book description
From the outside looking in, I live a charmed hockey legend for a father, my own promising future in the league, a great family, awesome friends. It’s not untrue, but it’s not quite that simple either. My dad’s advice has always been to make hockey my number-one priority—at least until I make it to the pros. So, going into my senior year of college, I have a plan. I’ll put in the effort required to pass my classes, play hockey like my life depends on it, and avoid relationships. All I have to do is stay focused on the end game, and I’ll walk away with a degree and into a career in the NHL. It should be easy. But when a woman literally floats into my dock, just before summer ends and my senior year begins, I can’t resist one last hookup. What harm could a one-night stand do? It’s not like we even exchanged numbers. Everything is fine until I run into her on campus. It’s a big school. I should be able to avoid her. Except she happens to be in my class. And she’s not a student. She’s my professor.

Rezension zu "The Refashion Handbook: Refit, Redesign, Remake for Every Body" von Beth Huntington
