I was in the mood for a short, easy listen that gave me all the cozy autumn vibes—pumpkins, colorful leaves, and cooler temperatures—and picked this one up on a whim. I wasn’t familiar with the author or narrator, but "Pumpkin Everything" checked all the right boxes. And I’m glad I chose it.
Lisa Larsen’s narration was effortless. She gave each character—no matter their gender, age, or accent—a distinctive voice. I was impressed with how well she brought the two leads and all the quirky supporting characters to life, making it easy to enjoy the small-town setting and cozy fall atmosphere.
The story itself is a sweet, second-chance romance about teenage sweethearts reuniting. There's a light touch when it comes to the drama, and I appreciated how the plot gently moved forward to its happily-ever-after. It even elicited several chuckles along the way. Overall, it's perfect for those in the mood for a cute feel-good seasonal treat.
That said, I wish the ending hadn’t felt so rushed. While I’m all for a neatly wrapped-up conclusion, a bit more time spent on those final scenes would have been nice. Still, I’m very much looking forward to listening to the follow-up title, Maple Sugar Crush, hoping the narration will be just as enjoyable. And I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for other audiobooks narrated by Lisa Larsen.
