In this second book of the series we are back in the Bloodwing Academy after Medra accidentally woke one of the house dragons. She can mentally communicate with Nyxaris, but being freed after so many years without clear info what happend to him, why he was a stone figure, the dragon is not trusting anybody any longer hence is taking off.
All the highblood houses want control over this great power so more than ever is Medra in danger. She is bluffing that she can control the dragon and bit by bit she can gain Nyxaris trust. Bit by bit secrets get revealed showing what once happened.
After Blake´s betrayal Medra is searching for a way to get rid of their bond and not to be in house Drakharrow any longer. As she is Blake´s only blood source yet they set up a kind of truth how she is accepting him feeding of her. So Blake must understand what mistakes he did and to avoid losing Medra for good he needs to change.

I really like this sequel. You need to read the first book to understand what is going on in the second.
I like the relationship between Medra and Nyxaris. The dragon does not trust anybody, wants to be left alone but is understanding, he is the only remaining dragon. He lost some of his memory while being in stone and Medra is helping him to find out what once happened. How they work together, start trusting each other is in my opinion really well written.
The secrets that get revealed are great and give the story new twists and cause lots of action here.

I really like that Medra is still true to herself. She is no push over, she is standing in for herself and her friends and no matter who tries to bully her she is handling it very well.
Blake is really an ass here and they way he is treating Medra at the beginning is tough. I very much liked how he understands that he is pushing her further away, that he is behaving like his older brother or uncle and that this is the wrong way, that he doesn´t want to be such a person. How he is changing is really believable for me described here. I liked to read it and due to this how he and Medra are getting closer. The chemistry between them is for me absolutely believable and I liked their erotic encounters. 

Again the story takes here really good twists and keeps you a bit hanging, how the story will proceed here as unexpected things happen at the end of this book.
I just flew through the story and couldn´t wait to learn how the story proceeds. So I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Wow wow wow! I loved every chapter, every page, every word of this book. Medra is an exciting protagonist who I have already grown very fond of in the Blood of a Fae series. Her history, her nature, her unusually fast growth just makes you curious. She definitely showed her strength in this first book of the series. I like her character very much. She is strong, independent, and stands up for herself and others. The dynamic between her and the love interest is very exciting and entertaining. 

I never found the plot boring. The new world is introduced very well. There is a lot to discover and even more hidden. It's not predictable at all! I'm really looking forward to the sequel and I secretly hope that Morgan and Draven will appear at some point. I highly recommend reading this book and preferably the Blood of a Fae series as well.

Medra Pentragon was willing to die to save Camelot. Instead she appears in a strange world and is found there from even stranger men. As it turns out she ended up in a land where vampires rule and mortals tend to their wishes.
Her half-fae blood with her pointed ears, how she looks like and her red hair is causing a scene as she represents a former group of persons which do not exist any longer – the dragon riders! Long ago dragons existed in the world and special persons were their rider. Now everybody is seeing in Medra a new dragon rider. To make sure to keep the power in the own family the vampire who is currently ruling arranges that Medra is betrothed to his youngest nephew Blake Drakharrow. None of them has a word to say in this.
So Medra is not only ending up to be betrothed, no she also must attend as it is usual the Bloodwing Academy to learn like the rest of this high vampires and especially like the dragon riders once were trained. This sound much easier as it is as Blake is not happy to be forced to have a human as consort and also his other consort hates that a human is now part of their arrangement.

This is a spin off story of the Blood of Fae story. I think you don´t need to know the story to start with this new one.
Again the author is creating here a really great fantasy setting with also lots of vibes and erotic scenes in it.
Also negative things like bullying, fighting, hurting mortals, using mortals and killing are part of the story. They bullying of some vampires is really heavy and we have the perfect B* in the story with Blake´s other consort Regan with all her nasty ways.
I really like to read how Medra is finding her way in this strange new world for her, is fighting for the right thinks and is not willing to be bullied by the high vampires at the academy. Bit by bit we learn more about the world and why humans are so willing to serve the vampires, how in the past dragons were playing a huge role and how the big four vampire families were fighting to rule and how we ended up with the current set up.

I really like to read Medra´s story here. The way she arrives in the world, how she needs to find her way around, how she handles all is for me really well written. Also that she is willing to fight against injustice and wants to save the friends she is making are her great traits.
Blake is not what is seems when you first look at him. You think he is a bully, unfriendly and thinks only about himself till you see behind the mask he is wearing. I really like his character set up and what he is all trying and doing to save people he likes and loves and what it costs him sometimes.
The chemistry between Medra and Blake is really great and how both are fighting against their feelings and yes the conflicts they have are most of the time caused due to misunderstandings and that they do not know each other and talk to each other. 

For me a really start into a new series with lots of action, but also great friendship and feelings which are changing and a real surprise at the end of this book for me.
