In der englischen Stadt Little Wolf Green, wird die Buchhandlung Scotts geschlossen, in der Anya bisher gearbeitet hat und von klein auf ein Zu Hause hatte. Dann werden vier alte, mysteriöse Bücher gefunden und weltweit bekannt, doch niemand kennt den Autor, der sich nur ,,The Weaver" nennt. Anya will das Rätsel um ihn lösen, um die Buchhandlung zu retten. Dicht gefolgt von ihren Freunden und ihrem Ex-Freund gerät Anya in eine völlig neue Welt, in der ewige Dunkelheit herrscht und magische Wesen existieren. Und sie soll die Retterin dieser Welt sein.


Meine Meinung:

Dieses Buch war einfach der Wahnsinn! Schon allein wegen des Covers ist dieses Buch es wert, gekauft zu werden. Und es sieht nicht nur von außen toll aus, sondern auch von innen, denn die Kapitelanfänge sind sehr kreativ gestaltet, was dieses Buch wirklich einzigartig macht. Und der Inhalt ist mindestens genauso toll. Auch der Buchrückseite steht, es sein eine Mischung aus Tintenherz und Chroniken von Narnia, und ich finde, das trifft es eigentlich recht gut. Es geht zum einen um die Liebe zu Büchern, zum zweiten, wird man in eine magische Welt geführt, die von fantastischen Elementen nur so strotzt. Dazu sind die Charaktere alle unheimlich sympathisch und die Story total spannend. Teilweise etwas düster, doch trotzdem mangelt es nicht an Scherzen und lustigen Szenen. Und das Ende übertrifft noch einmal alles, ich konnte das Buch zum Schluss nicht mehr aus der Hand legen, bis ich es fertig hatte. Und selbst wenn grade nichts besonderes passierte, machte es einfach Spaß zu lesen. Was mir auch super gefällt, ist das Rätsel, denn ich liebe Rätsel. Und es wird auch nicht am Ende des Buches gelöst, sondern man muss auf den nächsten Band warten. Wieviele Bände es insgesamt geben wird, weiß ich nicht, aber anhand der Geschichte vermute ich 6..auf jeden Fall kann ich es kaum erwarten, bis der nächste Band erscheint und kann dieses Buch wirklich nur weiter empfehlen!

Alright, got to calm down. Breathe in, breathe out, take it easy, take it slow ...
But I'm too THRILLED to calm down! "Mist & Whispers - The Weaver's Riddle" by Claire Marie Lucas is a debut novel - or should I say this fantasy story is stunning magic in book form? I know books which have wonderful covers, but inside they're pale and shapeless like ghosts. The cover of "The Weaver's Riddle" is really impressive. When I saw it for the first time, my first impulse was to grab it and run! A wonderful cover never promises a good book, but don't worry: I loved Anya's adventure!

English isn't my native language (yeah, that's the reason why you might find some grammer mistakes. But I'm really trying to do my best, believe me!!). When it comes to read in English, I always become unsure. Things went better than I had thought, actually - the author has a smooth and easy wirting style. C. M. Lucas doesn't throw academic words around, she simply writes in a way that's perfectly to understand for everyone. Just make yourself comfortable, Anya and Lucas' narrative techniques will take you to the dark world of Virtfirth.

But sometimes I had the feeling that the plot turns out to become a little predictable. That's not a big problem, it's reading a boring book that's the worst thing for me. With "The Weaver's Riddle" I never felt drowsy or so. Not only was the plot action-packed, but it was quite funny, too. Anya, my new heroine (she reminds of Merida from "Brave", doesn't she?), is an orphan, a book nerd and a whiz-kid with a heart of gold. The other characters - Steph, Tim or Michael - are also important, although I felt bad for Michael (he's a nice guy). It's a comfort knowing that Anya's impulsive chracter hasn't gotten the kind-hearted part of her ...!

Well, it was an epic, even bloody and beautiful book and I can't wait for more. Read it! It really does make your eyes shine, it creates so many feelings and will even give you a big shock when you realize you have one page left to read. I still can't stop thinking about the Weaver's world and the Marked One. That's why you'll see me walking around with my head in the clou-, I mean in the mist. Nevertheless, there are 4 out of 5 golden stars gleaming in the darkness.
