Inhaltsangabe zu „All Together Dead“ von Charlaine Harris

Betrayed by her longtime vampire love, and with a new man - a shapeshifter - in her life, Sookie's got quite enough to deal with without having to contend with the long-awaited vampire summit . . .Sookie's beginning to get used to being surrounded by all varieties of undead, changeling, shapeshifting and other supernatural beings - but even she has her limits. She'd really like to take a while to get over being betrayed by Bill, her long-time vampire lover, and get used to her new relationship with the sexy shapeshifter Quinn - but instead, she finds herself attending the long-planned vampire summit, the destination of choice for every undead power player around, as a sort-of human 'Geiger counter' for Sophie-Anne Leclerq, vampire queen of Louisiana. But the job is fraught with difficulties. Sophie-Anne's power base has been severely weakened by Hurricane Katrina, and she's about to be put on trial during the event for murdering her king. Sookie knows the queen is innocent, but she's hardly prepared for other shocking murders: it looks like there are some vamps who would like to finish what nature started. With secret alliances and backroom deals the order of the day - and night - Sookie must decide which side she'll stand with, and quickly, for her choice may mean the difference between survival and all-out catastrophe.

    All Together Dead

Sookie Stackhouse is going through a lot of new incidents in "All together dead", #7 of the series written by Charlaine Harris. All of our favourite vampires together :) Story: Sookie has found a new boyfriend in Quinn, the weretiger, even if she just sees him rarely. Furthermore, Hurricane Katrina has done much damage to the Queen Sophie-Anne and the death of her husband Peter Threadgill is also still on the table.  The Vampire Summit in Rhodes should deal with all this, even if the Queens trial is just a part of it. She wants Sookie there to use her telepathy for her safety. So Sookie attends the summit, and soon the enigmatic occurences become more frequent including vampire deaths, arrow throwing an a bomb in Sookie's hands. Characters: Sookie is a loveable as ever. She attends the summit because of the money which she wants to use as a nest egg. You never know what might happend in the future. I like the fact that in this whole Vampire/Supernatural being world she is still a waitress who has to work hard to make ends meet. Currently she is dating Quinn and I didn't like him the last book, but I'm steadily starting to appreciate his love for Sookie.  Queen of Louisiana, Sopie-Anne Leclerq has a bigger part here and I kind of like her, even if she's a devious b***h. Her character is interesting and the fact that she looks like a 16-year-old is odd, but perfect for her part. Barry, the telepath Sookie met way back in Dallas, is also at the Summit, now working for the King of Texas. He's way more confident now then he was in book 2 and he's pleasant. I think there's much we don't know about him yet and hopefully he'll appear in one of the next books again. Bill and Eric are also appearing in this book. Bill just has a small part, because Sookie doesn't simply ignores him, after what he's done. Eric is Eric, but likeable as ever and his feelings for Sookie are obvious. Sook and Eric are bound together by bolld exchange and I don't know why but Eric and Sookie are still my #1 OTP in the series, followed by Sookie and Alcide :) Writing: Harris' writing is flawless as ever. I like her style so much and she know how to plot out a great story, how to develop her characters and how to write unexpected and expected plot twists. The world in her series is full of supernatural being: vampires, werewolfes, shifters, witches, weretiger, werepanthers, fairys and many more, but in this book, the story concentrates on the vampires and their affairs. :) I like that the reader is introduced to a bound of new vampires, Kings and Queens, most of the Louisiana-based ones and a couple of other characters who are unlikely to come back in the next books. I the last books, there often was a part when I was a bit bored while reading and the story had a low point, but in this one I read on and on and never had this feeling. So I give 5 of 5 bottles of true blood, as the book can be said to be my favourite one of the series so far, but maybe I'm just in a good mood right now :)
