Nikola Hahn’s “Mrs. Meyer’s Magical Garden” is a wonderful and easy to read novel. With the help of Eli, you can immerse into the story, which is a fairy tale told for adults. By the author’s use of a very figurative language, the journey to the forbidden garden will become a most beautiful and gorgeous event.
Nikola Hahn contrives it to let the story happen on a fine line between reality and fantasy. Sometimes it is even hard to tell apart, if it is fantasy or not when Eli visits the forbidden garden. On the other hand, there are scenes whom are well-defined. You will lose yourself easily in that lovely story and surely will begin to dream of Mrs. Magical Garden.
I much enjoyed even the many descriptions of the many flowers and trees that grew in her garden. You can learn a lot of their appearance, the place to plant them and other interesting things about them. You may want make your own bed of flowers.
A very interesting part is that Eli not only gets friends in her fantasy world, but even learns how to make friend in the real world. The forbidden garden makes her little broken world a bit better and life worth living again. More than that, she really enjoys fleeing in her forbidden garden and experience so many adventures in it.
More than that, the novel contains a lot of lovely pictures around the garden, which makes “Mrs. Meyer’s Magical Garden” even more adorable.

With Nikola Hahn’s “Mrs. Meyer’s Magical Garden” you definitely get on a journey to a magical world, a fairy tale, told for adults through the eyes of a child. I truly can recommend this novel for all who loves to get back to their childhood memories.

Nikola Hahn wrote the novel "Mrs. Meyer´s magical garden". The main character is a little girl called Eli. Her parents got divorced and she suffers from their decision. Especially,  because she have to move with her mother. She can´t catch up new friends and is alone. After some days she decides to have a adveture and clibe over the wall of a feral garden. There she meets an old woman, who invites her for a cup of tea. She talk to the woman and decides to visti her to every once in a while. Especially she detects new flowers and friends in the garden. The conversations with the old lady make Eli to think about her parents and environment.
The book is very pictographic. Especially the garden is describe in detail. The novel is wrote in a childlike perspective. Despite of the food for thought is thought- provoking for adults. Unfortunately i didn´t know enough about the old lady. The end of the book is sad but fit into the whole story. The pictueres are beautiful.

Inhalt:
Elis Eltern haben sich getrennt. Dort wo sie jetzt mit ihrer Mutter umgezogen ist, gibt es einen verwilderten Garten. Dort verbringt sie ihre Zeit und findet Freunde.

Bewertung:
Ich fand das Buch fantastisch! Schon das Cover dieser Ausgabe fand ich toll und die Fotos drin haben mich verzaubert. Ich fand die Aufnahmen passend und sehr schön.
Ich bin nicht ein Gartenmensch, aber dieses Buch kann man auch so genießen. Man taucht in eine andere Welt ein, fühlt sich wie ein Kind oder kann wieder die Welt mit den Augen eines Kindes sehen. Man nimmt sich mit dem Buch Zeit und genießt.
Die Geschichte hatte für mich nicht den Vorrang, sondern die tollen Beschreibungen und die Atmosphäre. In Englisch war es manchmal schwierig, da ich nicht alle Pflanzennamen kannte, der Geschichte hat es aber nicht geschadet.
