Stanley Potts live with his uncle and aunt after both of his parents died. When his uncle lost his job, he starts transforming their house into a factory to tin fish. Soon Stanely, his aunt and uncle are always working in the factory - the factory they live in. One day a fair comes to town and Stanley sees a glimpse of another life waiting for him.
What is the intention for a (almost) grown up to read a children's book? They are more innocent, they are usually full of love and children's magic. And sometimes we just need the world to be okay.
So this book is such a book. Its heartworming, funny, full of lovely ideas and with a true hero.
Stanley is a great character, a boy you just have to love. And the other persons are lovely as well - quirky and weird and maybe a bit too much from time to time, but truly amazing, even those who shouldn't be.
It's great to follow Stan on his way to the world and back to where he belongs to. He's on a great journey learning who he wants to be and what he wants to do. He's a true hero.
The book is fantastic to read with lots of great drawings making the book even better. I really enjoyed reading it and laughed a lot. I can recommend it to everyone who wants to read a lovely children's story.
