I WAS SO SAD...
.
i was so sad i stopped dreaming
.
i was so sad
i tumbled down the stairs
striking sparks with each bump
.
i was so sad there was
nothing on this wild earth that could
put me to sleep
.
i rearranged my face till it fit
as tight as a
murderer's alibi
.
tried to jump off the top of the sky
and went through the roof
.
put all my calls on hold
though i had no phone
....
climbed christmas trees
hoping i'd meet jesus at the top
.
i was so sad
i fell in love with electricity
and didn't want anyone else to use her
.
...
got drunk on love and
was very sick the next day
.
walked down main street at midnight
armed to the teeth with fireflies and
bread crusts
daring anybody to tell me they were sorry
.
i was so sad i
got a crush on blue light
.
bet everything i had
on a revolution in zambia
...
only watched tv for the
test patterns
.
i was so sad
i put myself up for adoption
...
asked a dove what time it was and
corrected its grammar
...
i was so sad
the wind took my name and number
and promised to get back to me
before the sun went down
