Inhaltsangabe zu „How to Be Bad“ von E. Lockhart

When you're tired of being good, sometimes you gotta be a little bad ... Jesse, Vicks and Mel couldn't be more different. Jesse, a righteous Southern gal who's as thoughtful as she is uptight, is keeping a secret that she knows will change her life forever. Vicks is a wild child: seemingly cool, calm and collected on the outside, but inside she's furious at herself for being so anxious about her neglectful boyfriend. And Mel is the new girl in town. She's already been dismissed as just another rich kid, but all she wants is to get over some of her fears and find some true friends. But for all their differences, the girls discover they've got one thing in common - they're desperate to escape. Desperate to get the heck out of Niceville and discover their true 'badass' selves! Even if it's just for the weekend ... One 'borrowed' car later, it's time to hit the road and head for Miami. Hearts will be broken, friendships will be tested, and a ridiculously hot stranger could change the course of everything.

Could've been so much better, with one of my favourite YA authors. It's just kind of boring sometimes... Except Mel, I hated the characters.

Seriously, even three stars are a little bit too good. I hated Jesse, she’s so fussy and extremely Christian it isn’t even funny anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I’m Christian too but I’d never act like her. Vicks slept with her long-time boyfriend and Jesse said she’s a sinner and so on and she was so disapproval of anything to do with boys. Vicks is just dump for dumping her boyfriend, I mean, kind of pathetic, isn’t it? To dump him because he’s in college and hasn’t called her in a week or so. The only character I liked was Mel. She’s so kind and not arrogant at all, even though her parents would give her everything she could possibly ask for, she works for her money herself. And what Vicks did to her was just so mean… I won’t explain it any further, you have to read the book if you want to know.ConclusionI liked the story and I liked Mel, but everything else didn’t convince me. I think that girls aged 13 would love the book. However, for me it was sometimes too much. You’ll know what I mean if you read the book!
