Meh!

I'm not sure how to rate this book -- I was going to give it a 2, but then the ending sucked, so it went down to a 1.

I knew within the first few pages that this wasn't going to be a great book. It was bad, and it just wasn't really attention grabbing. It was slow moving, long, kind of dark, sad and boring. Mostly, the story is depressing, with the odd dip into melodrama.

I really just wanted to read about the Rob and Susannah storyline, and didn't give a hoot about Doug and his bratty kids. I was super annoyed that every time it seemed like Rob and Susannah were going to get their happiness, something got thrown in their way. I suppose that's the lesson here -- but that lesson sucks. I wanted a happy ending, and I didn't get it. That's a sure way for me to hate a book and never recommend it to anyone.

This book was a massive disappointment.
