I am in love. Emily Carroll's drawing style is my favourite. (Yes, I CAN say that although I have only read two graphic novels in my whole life. Sue me.) (Don't get me wrong: I adored Nimona but THIS. ONE. WAS. SO. COOL. (Like for real!!) It wasn't scary - not per se - but it was atmospheric. Very much so. I was so enthralled and #blessed by the GORGEOUS DRAWINGS that I didn't care (AT ALL) that I wasn't creeped out. Didn't care!

The colour choices worked so well! The cover is beautiful! The arrangement of text and drawings on the pages were perfectly placed! The stories weren't too short or too long! I LOVED IT SO MUCH I COULD COMBUST INTO BUTTERFLIES AND CANDY RIGHT NOW.

My favourite story HAS TO BE 'A LADY'S HANDS ARE COLD' because it was THE ONLY CHAPTER THAT I WAS LEGIT SCARED ONCE. The best ending THOUGH GOES TO 'OUR NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE' (or maybe 'My friend Janna' - but just maybe) because it was. so. on. point. for. a. first. chapter. I could gush all day about this one! I dragged it to the car with me today so I could show my mum and I was like 'LOOK HOW AMAZING THIS ARTWORK IS' and she was like 'yes, sweetie, that's nice' and I was like 'LOOK AT IT, MUM, SO GREAT'. GUSH.

I was so in the #moodForArt that I went to Emily Carroll's website (http://www.emcarroll.com/) just so I could look at it some more. I mean, I'm not crazy: I found this - this is so worth it, isn't it?



The only thing I have left to say is: JUST FIVE STORIES? I NEED MORE. Please and thank you.
