Rezension zu "Sleeping With The Enemy" von Hal Vaughan
This book is an update for any older Chanel biography. It concentrates only on Chanel`s connection with the Nazis. If you want to know about her you must read this book in combination with another biography. But this makes the book interesting for people who don`t care for fashion but rather like to learn about how the rich and famous made it through the war. Coco Chanel never did too much by herself but always had help from powerful people. During the war she looked for the Nazis` help to get rid of her Jewish business partner to keep all the money for herself. She worked with the SS. After the war she was protected by Churchill. Probably because she had knowledge about the Windsors` Nazi connection. This book is very depressing and no fun to read. You begin to understand how power works. It`s difficult to read how some drank champagne while millions were killed.
