Rezension zu "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl Written by Herself" von Harriet Ann Jacobs
sunplantskyAs important as Frederick Douglass
Jacobs retells as Linda Brent her experiences as a slave and her liberation in her autobiography “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl”. As a Black Woman she gives major insights into what her life was like and therefore, next to Douglass, contributes to the slave narratives. She explains reasons for her actions thoughtfully which contributes to her picture as a brave role model. Her language is well, too.
This book is a must read for everyone who is interested in American culture and history.
