this was a great read to get to know more about south africa from the perspective of indigenous writers regarding a broad range of topics. i enjoyed reading it a lot, but was quite irritated by how violent, brutal and shocking most stories proved to be. being a teacher, you would have to know your class well in order to choose a story you can work with! the value lies mostly in the great variety of issues as well as getting to know lesser known authors.
