I love Christmas and I love horror, so this combination of both themes was right up my alley. I loved how the horror crept in slowly, first just a glimpse here or a drop of blood there, making it seem like a hallucination, especially for Diane, who is drowning in grief and guilt ever since her husband died two years ago. So she really shouldn't trust her senses, should she? But why are the elves grinning so devilishly, and why do her kids don't notice anything out of the ordinary? When Christmas Town sheds is jolly appearance and shows is real and very deadly intentions, Diane must fight for her family to get out alive. But is there a way to defeat the thing in Christmas Town? The solution was both surprising and consistently and really put a bow on this sweet little story. Oh, and I loved the little illustrations at the beginning of each chapter (11 is my favorite one) giving a nice festive touch to the book - hehe. Highly recommended!
