Inhaltsangabe zu „Diary of a Wimpy Kid - The Last Straw“ von Jeff Kinney

Greg's dad, Frank, is on a mission - a mission to make this wimpy kid, well, less wimpy. All manner of 'manly' physical activities are planned, but Greg just about manages to find a way out of them. That is until military academy is mentioned and Greg realizes that he's going to have to come up with something very special to get out of this one. (Quelle:'Flexibler Einband/12.08.2009')

Habe selten etwas unlustigeres gelesen.

A new year has started and Greg is trying to improve his standing with his dad, because he doesn't want to send to a military academy. He has to join the soccer team, the boy scouts and complains about his parents a lot.I have to admit this is my first "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", since it's the only one the library had. I always liked Berts Katastrophen, so I though I might enjoy this one too. I did not. This book is in no way, shape or form funny to me. There are no punchlines, ever and very little happens at all. Most of the times I'm not even sure, where the jokes are supposed to be.Also, the comics only very rarely add to the book, most times they are basic, boring drawings of that's already been said in the text.
