Kurzmeinung: Nicht JLAs bestes Buch, aber dennoch ein Buch von ihr. Kann demnach auch nicht schlecht sein;)

Grabbing a JLA book means being all nice and comfy in a matter of minutes. It´s like sitting down in your favorite arm chair in the living room after a long day, surrounded by holy heat and homely smells. My long day was a major breakdown on the What should I read next, there are too many options! front.
My solution was the typical mix of hot guy, kickass heroine, paranormal story and laughter. Never lets me down.
Admittedly, I was a bit afraid in the very beginning if the book would go down a similar road as Shatter Me, but then Ember didn´t strike me as boring and annoying as Juliette. Generally, I was torn between understanding (suffering a great case of I wouldn´t survive one day in her shoes) and motivational speeches for her to stop the pity party and believe in herself. God, it really must suck not being able to touch anybody. So of course you´d be afraid.
The story was totally okay, with everything from ridiculously supporting Hot Dude to bratty, but lovely litte sister. The revelation of the bad guy may haven´t been that surprising, but it was fine enough.
I do feel like the story came to an abrupt ending, especially because we haven´t seen that much of the other characters. I would´ve liked to learn more about Gabe´s gift, how Ember´s dealing now and to watch some more of the bickering with Kurt. He reminded me a bit of Archer.
It ain´t a series, though, so I have to be content with what I got. I can do that.
