Inhaltsangabe zu „Crimson Frost“ von Jennifer Estep

For a moment, a face flashed before my eyes--the most hideous face I'd ever seen. No matter how hard I tried to forget what had happened, I saw him everywhere I went. It was Loki--the evil god that I'd helped set free against my will. I should have known that my first official date with Logan Quinn was destined to end in disaster. If we'd gotten into a swordfight, or been ambushed by Reapers, I'd have been more prepared. But getting arrested mid-sip at the local coffee hangout? I didn't see that one coming. I've been accused of purposely helping the Reapers free Loki from his prison--and the person leading the charge against me is Linus Quinn, Logan's dad. The worst part is that pretty much everyone at Mythos Academy thinks I'm guilty. If I'm going to get out of this mess alive, I'll have to do it myself. . . "An amazingly addictive new series."--Fresh Fiction Praise for the Mythos Academy series "Kiss of Frost has just as much ass-kicking as the first book in the series." --Good Choice Reading "Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending will leave the reader breathless!" --RT Book Reviews on Kiss of Frost, 4 Stars "A great start to a new young adult paranormal series." --Night Owl Reviews on Touch of Frost "It has literally everything: mystery, romance, mythology, boarding schools. What could be better?" --Simply Nerdy Book Reviews on Touch of Frost (Quelle:'E-Buch Text/24.12.2012')

Gwen and Logan are official! Finally they made it to the girlfriend/boyfriend stage and are out on their first date. A real date, without creepy animals trying to eat them or something in that direction. A regular date, in a regular coffee shop. Well, as regular as it gets, considering the high end clientele they usually cater to at Kaldi Coffee in Cypress Mountain. But at least no Reapers and that’s a definite plus. Until everything goes down the drain, so to speak and Gwen is arrested. Yes, arrested. The Protectorate, a kind of police force in the mythological world, arrest Gwen on several charges, the most serious of them is willingly freeing the Trikster God Loki from his prison. She freed him, all right. But willingly? Yeah, sure. Not. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, leader of the gang is one Linus Quinn, Logans father. Accused of these crimes in front of the whole school, Gwens all day life gets more than just a little bit dangerous and she constantly has to watch her back not just because Lokis Reapers are out to get her, but her classmates also. The only things she can always count on is the support of her friends who stand beside her, no matter what and her grandmother. At a time like this, that’s probably the only thing that keeps her going. Facing a trial that could quite possibly end in her execution, struggling to figure out what Lokis Champion, Vivian Holler, is up to next and trying to stay alive. Nothing is ever boring at Mythos Academy. The story continues seamlessly and it picks up the pace. Lots of fighting and bloodshed is going on and either side is trying to be one step ahead. With Logans father and stepmother in the mix, the reader learns some of what happened to Logan and his family when he was a child. It explains a lot about why he is who he is and what kept him from opening up to Gwen for the longest time.  Who caused Gwen her newest problems is not entirely surprising but entertaining all the same and with enough of a twist to keep the plot interesting. A nice addition to Gwens bunch of friends is Alexei, the Bogatyr Warrior and Nyx, her Fenrir puppy. I like :) Jennifer Estep still hasn’t lost her fondness of special words or phrases, but at least the repetitions are not quite as prominent in this book than in the last ones. Not by a long shot, as it is. I think, I liked this best so far and… oh what the hell! 4 stars! Gimme the next one!

Gwen is trying to shake the memories of the hideous events that ended up almost killing her and freeing the trickster god Loki. She is back at the Mythos Academy amongst her friends, ready to finally go on that date with the sexy Spartan Logan Quinn. The two are just settling into the trendy coffee shop with their overpriced hot beverages, when Gwen's nerves get the better of her and she manages to spill the drinks all over Logan. While Logan is in the bathroom, trouble stalks into the shop in the form of the Protectorate. Three of the Protectorate Elite, one of them being Logan's father, arrive to arrest Gwen on charges of conspiring to free Loki. This can't be happening... but it is. Soon Gwen is facing outrageous accusations and she is in a fight for her life.
