Rezension zu "The Diamond Eye: the brand new WW2 historical novel based on a gripping true story from the #1 bestselling author" von Kate Quinn
Sibille_ScherrerI read the book a while ago, but it is still one of my favorites.
Kate Quinn’s The Diamond Eye is a powerful and emotional novel that completely drew me in. Based on a true story, it follows Mila Pavlichenko, a book-loving student who becomes a feared sniper during World War II. Her journey from librarian to “Lady Death” is gripping, and I felt connected to her struggles, strength, and resilience.
The writing is smooth and easy to read, making the historical setting feel alive. Kate Quinn balances action, emotion, and history perfectly. Mila’s loneliness, grief, and determination felt very real, especially as she navigates war, motherhood, and unexpected friendships.
The mix of battlefield tension and political intrigue kept me hooked, and I loved the story. The Diamond Eye is an unforgettable novel about courage and survival
