Kazuo Ishiguro was born in Nagasaki in 1954. In 1960, his family relocated to London where he later studied English and Philosophy.
His first novel "A Pale View of Hills" was honored by the Royal Society of Literature with the Winfried-Holtby-Award.
Many more awards were to follow. In 1989 he received the Booker Prize for "The Remains of the Day". In 1995, he became an OBE.
His works have been translated into 28 languages.
