Rezension zu "Virgil Wander" von Leif Enger
What a huge disappointment, but I just can't blame the book which I still believe is actually a good one. The plot went along well with odd but mostly likeable characters and a number of weird incidents to make this book stand out. Usually, I have a soft spot for slow-moving stories were no world-altering events take place, where people just live their lives. However, with 'Virgil Wander' I felt not connected, but rather on the fringe of boredom, despite the engaging writing and everything. In the end, I was rather glad I to close the (virtual) cover and move on. Despite my personal problems with the book, I wouldn't recommend to not read the book, I rather suggest everyone interested should give it a try themselves.
(thanks to netgalley, the author, and the publisher for a copy of the book, all opinions are my own)
