Cosy Christmas mystery
I had not read anything by her before this one, but I was delighted by the characters and the story. The sleuth is Lucy Stone, a young mother of three children in Tinker's Cove, Maine.
Lucy normally loves planning for the holidays, but this year, Tinker's Cove has fallen on hard times. Many residents struggle to make ends meet, but not the two owners of Downeast Mortgage, who rake in profits from everyone's misfortune. So when one of the owners is murdered, there are a lot of suspects...
Meier achieves to create a fantastic atmosphere and I nearly smelled the cakes, biscuits and Christmas spices. It's a very entertaining story and easy-read - just perfect for the hectic days before Christmas!
