"The time to be unfiltered is now"
Opening up can be scary.
We worry that no one can relate to us or understand our Problems. We worry that our struggles define us and that our quirks make us weird. But believe me: if you open up and let go, the only thingyou'll feel is free. Using our Voices allows us to connect with one another and realize we're never alone. We are encouraged, inspired, and supported. The sooner we accept our stories for all that they are and the sooner we let go of the shame, regrets, and fear surrounding our experiences - the sooner we can live, love, and be loved.
The time to be unfiltered is now.
Alright, so first of all I must say that Lily Collins is one of my favorite actresses. Therefore, one can imagine that I was pretty excited for this book to come out. I expected a lot and I am so happy to say that she did not disappoint me.
I totally loved it!
I've read some other Reviews by People who found the stories to be too flat and not deep enough. They said that they couldn't relate and stuff.
I, on the other hand, think It was brave of Lily Collins to write this book and expose herself like that.
She talked about her Eating disorder, how she was in a relationship with an addict, about an abusive relationship she had and also About how she has found her own voice.
I didn't find it to be flat. I find it to be very emotional and it also opened my eyes at some points.
We sometimes Forget that all those Beautiful and skinny People we see in movies or on magazines aren't as perfect as they seem and that all of them have the same issues and insecurities we have.
As I was reading "Unfiltered" I also noticed how important it was for Lily Collins to share her story, so that mostly Teenagers wouldn't have to go through the same. By that I mean eating disorders.
The way she handled this subject that is kind of considered taboo was just fantastic in my opinion

With this book Lily Collins showed that she is not only a brilliant actress, but also a talented writer, who is not afraid to share her experiences. She tells her Story and encourages all girls and women to find their own voices and to accept and love themselves as who they are.
I totally recommend this book!
