Interview mit Liz Kessler

Interview von LovelyBooks und Liz Kessler, Mai 2011

1) Since when did you write your own stories and how did it come your first book was published?

I've written since I was young, but in 1999 I decided to go part time at work and devote myself to my writing. Once I'd finished my first book, I was lucky enough to get an agent who got me a book deal with my wonderful publishers Orion, who then sold the book all over the world!

2) Which author inspires you most of all?

There isn't really a particular author who inspires me. I am inspired by anyone who writes a book and gets it published. It's a long and hard road sometimes!

3) Where do you get the inspiration for your books?

Anywhere and everywhere! People, lovely places, snippets of conversations, looking out at the sea, staring into space!

4) How do you get in contact with your readers?

By email through my website, facebook and twitter!

5) When and what do you read yourself?

In bed at night - and occasionally on the beach in the day time!

6) How did it feel do hold your own book in your hands for the first time?

In a word - FANTASTIC

7) Do you have any advice for other writers?

If you go on my website and click the keyboard, you'll see lots of my writing advice!

8) Who is your favorite character in your books so far and why?

Gosh. That's very hard to say. Maybe Emily Windsnap herself as it all started with her.

9) What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

That I could inspire young people to write and dream and imagine. That is a wonderful feeling.

10) Are you already writing another novel and can you tell us, what it will be about?

I'm ALWAYS writing another novel! My brand new stand alone novel A Year Without Autumn, is just out. I'm now starting a fifth Emily Windsnap book. I hope your readers will like it!!
