Rezension zu "My Love of All that is Bizarre: The Erotic Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" von M. Christian
Ein LovelyBooks-NutzerIf the thought of seeing the world’s greatest consulting detective engaging in sexual activity is off-putting to you, than you should stay away from this book. But it’s perhaps better to give this a wide berth in general, not because of the slippery content but the dull writing.
I was expecting mystery stories with a taste of erotica. Well, the tales in this volume are not only not detective stories, most of them don’t even have a plot. They get to the point almost immediately without much subtlety or finesse.
The pornography here is so blunt and occasionally even ridiculously over the top, that it feels like these pieces have been written by a horny 15 year old boy.
There is surprisingly or should I say disappointingly little of Irene Adler, instead the recurring fantasy of these authors seems to be Sherlock and Watson sharing sexual intimacies.
Boring, pedestrian, single-minded and not even bizarre enough to truly make a lasting impression, My Love For All That Is Bizarre can only be recommended to Sherlockian completists for whom it may at least hold a certain curiosity value.
