I enjoyed the series, but this last book was a bit of a disappointment. Story: All eyes are on Perdido Beach. The barrier wall is now as clear as glass and life in the FAYZ is visible for the entire outside world to see. Life inside the dome remains a constant battle and the Darkness, away from watchful eyes, grows and grows... I have been super excited how everything turns out in the end, who survives, what happens to Gaia and if the dome will ever vanish. I have become quite familiar with all the characters in the story, even if it has been some time since I finished the 5th book. Before reading this book, I had thought that 4 or 5 books would have been enough, but now I realize that otherwise something would have been missing, so I'm glad the story ends after 6 books. The struggle in the FAYZ goes on and once more Sam has to be take over responsibility for all the children. Am I the only one that thinks it a bit unrealistic, that a 15-year-old boy can handle this all? There is clearly a character development visible in all the children, but sometimes their actions were too much for a child this age. Maybe I just can't imagine a scenario like this and nobody will ever be able to say how someone would react in a situation like that, so it might be realistic nevertheless. The reason I only give 3 of 5 stars for this book is, that it was a weird ending. In the first couple of books, I always guesses what had evoked the dome and the ending was in some ways disappointing.
