    Too predictable

-- This review may contain spoilers! --

The first few pages really got me hooked and I was convinced this would be an easy five star read. However, a couple more pages into it my enthusiasm slowly left, and I caught myself reading only a couple pages at a time.

But what happened? First, I could not relate to any of the characters - they all seemed kind of stereotype (and really fit the bill, as I later discovered). And there was something off with the main character - I didn't trust his 'normal guy' vibes and found I didn't like him at all.
Second, the plot was too predictable. Right after the outcome of the first fare I knew almost exactly what was happening here and especially why. The only thing left to figure out was they way in which each of them would find their gruesome end.

The only thing I couldn't figure out right away was what bad thing Mr Nice Guy had done, and the flashbacks to his family let me falsely assume he offed his wife and daughter (which wasn't too far from the truth in the end).

The way each traveler was punished was nicely fitting for their bad deeds and the gore scenes where vivid and - well, gory.

All in all, an entertaining and thrilling ride, but the predictability of the plot stole a lot of fun for me.
