Inhaltsangabe zu „The Spencer Cohen Series Book One (Volume 1)“ von N.R. Walker

Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client’s ex realise one of two things: he doesn’t want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers. The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk. But in the end, Spencer’s client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer’s work was done. Andrew Landon’s ex left him without so much as an explanation. But his sister can’t stand to see him miserable, so, much to Andrew’s dismay, they hire Spencer to be Andrew’s new boyfriend to get the ex back. For Spencer, it is never personal. Merely a business transaction. No emotions, no strings, no complications. Yeah right. Even a blind man could see how this would end.

Cute, happy, romantic read, with a pacing issue. Book only spans until the very start of the relationship.

Spencer Cohen is a boyfriend for hire, he helps people get their exes back by making them jealous. But then he get's hired by Andrews sister to get his ex-fiance back, who just up and left for no reason a month ago. But it's just not the same as always, because Spencer and Andrew click just right and they spent a lot more time together than the whole "Getting his ex back" business would warrant.Well, this is certainly all kinds of gushy, mushy warm feels. I adore Andrew but he's a bit too perfect really (but I love that the author went for a very modern job, it's new and actually pretty interesting), I like Spencer more, he's more well rounded, with baggage and flaws (embarrassingly big mouth for one) and the relationship development is just really, really adorable and romantic and all that. Especially all the blushing, it's very becoming. ;) But the pacing feels a bit off. Because it's a series, I assume, the relationship only actually takes off as the book ends. I can deal with no sex, but there's only two kisses in it and it kinda feels a little unsatisfying in the end. I wanted a little more, though I can't really say more what, because I general I did like the book.
