Lebenslauf

Ana Paula Seixlack is a critically acclaimed Brazilian author who a few years ago decided to get in touch with Swiss author Oliver. Their discussions on the facebook messenger were all about bands like The Beach Boys, ELO, and similar retro-music. On a warm summer day, they decided to write a novel together. After an intensive few weeks of planning, they had come up with a hilarious comedy-style story and devised some wonderfully eccentric characters. Two years later, 'Follow the Wind' was completed, and the authors still hadn't talked to each other, let alone met.

In 2015, Ana travelled to Europe and visited Oliver's family in Switzerland. Of course, they climbed a mountain together. Then the hard work began: The two authors wanted their novel to be perfect, so a long proofreading process began. In the end, it can be said it was worth it!

Both Ana and Oliver strive to entertain their readers and bring a smile (or a good laugh!) to their faces.

'Follow the Wind' is their debut novel. and it's a winner!

Now the readers will have to decide who their favourite character is: Hopeless Buster, the tour guide? Marina, the Brazilian girl who wants to save him? Or one of the beautifully ecentric Italian characters? Or the Swedish lady? The French girl Stephanie? The Dutch vlogger Ambrosius? Or even Mrs Nogueira, the villain? Or grumpy Rosa...?

The authors will be more than happy to hear from their readers via their facebook profile pages or Lovelybooks.de.

Botschaft an meine Leser

Dear readers,

'Follow the Wind' is unique in that it was written by two authors who had never met or talked to each other before the last sentence was written.

We love the characters we created - each one of them!

We also think that in difficult times like these it is important to entertain, to bring a smile to our dear readers' faces. And we also like to be in touch with our readers, be it through LovelyBooks.de or facebook.

So we'll be happy to hear which character you like best! (or least...)

Happy reading!

Ana and Oliver

Grossartig erzählt

Tolle und witzige Story mit herrlichen Figuren.

Es macht richtig Spass mit der Hauptfigur Buster auf Reisen zu gehen.

Sehr empfehlenswert.

Hiking is just walking, right?

I learned about this book on the book-community “lovelybooks” and was curious reading a novel written by two different authors living on different continents – without having met or even talked to each other before. The story is placed in Switzerland and Brazil – the authors´ natural habitats.

Buster is a rather hopeless man without any sense of direction or people skills. Nevertheless he got a job as a tour guide in the Swiss Alps. Marina on the other side - whose character is completely different from Buster´s by the way - decides to help her pen-friend and to go hiking with his group incognito. Who would have thought of her boss Mrs. Nogueira to join them as well? What follows is a weird adventure in Switzerland with a quite crazy group of tourists.

The point of view switches between Buster, Marina and Mrs. Nogueira. Their internal thoughts let the reader get the picture and lead him through the storyline. The characters created by the authors are realistic, but at the same time weird and eccentric. One important point of the writing style is the frequent use of realistic dialogues. This makes the reading very easy and I guess the book can be used in schools with English as a foreign language.

It´s not an ordinary story anyway. Some things are easy to believe, one might even expect them, while other surprising actions seem that unbelievable to boggle your mind. But in the end it is a book that entertains the reader. And that is the most important point in comedies, isn´t it?

It´s a pity there weren´t more readers for this book. And it´s a pity I´m not allowed writing book reviews on amazone. they blocked me, because I didn´t spend at least 50 € during the last year ...

But my review can be seen here, on goodreads, facebook and instagram
