Calista has never had an easy life - her mother died after her birth, and Calista and her Dad were always so poor that they were *this* close to starving. In school, she was as good as invisible. No friends, and certainly no admirers, causing her to wonder if there was something wrong with her other than her merely average looks.
This all changes when her father lands a new job as caretaker of a huge mansion with elaborate, breathtaking gardens - a job which comes with free use of a fancy, wonderful house. Within a few short days, Calistas life changes drastically. Not only does she find out that she is magical (and her mother was, too!), she gains two wonderful friends and meets a mysterious yet charming boy on the beach that she cannot shake from her thoughts... And her looks? Not so average after all!
This novel is so satisfying to read - you cannot help but feel happy for Calista! Of course, her new life is not without its problems and dangers, in the end... So there's an added element of suspense that keeps you glued to your Kindle!
I will definitely read the rest of the trilogy.
Charming and magical!
