This is a book in a family series but you don´t need to know the other ones. This was for me the first book of the series and it is fine to be read as stand alone.
Ed Penrose finished his contact in the Caribbean and returns without giving his family and heads up. When he walks into the former home he shared with his cousin he is in for a surprise. He gets attacked by an unknown woman. This is not what he assumed after trying to grow up and leaving his reputation behind.
Frankie Webber rented a house during filming the next session for the TV series which makes her popular. She is freaked when an unknown person breaks into the house. This is linked to an incident in London which scared here.
Once the misunderstanding is solved both get to know each other better and most of all they see the real person. During the Christmas time both get closer but will their feelings last longer than only some weeks before both will return to their lives and contracts?
Nice setting being in this small town with the huge family and all the nice characters there.
Here we also get Christmas setting added to make this a nice and easy read.
What I like is that Ed and Frankie struggle with their pasts and now find a person who really sees them and wants the best for the other. How they get to know each other, how their feelings change is nicely written.
I really enjoyed that Frankie is so warmly welcomed into town and by the family and that nobody cares that she is famous, is making sure she feels OK.
Also how the filming, the interaction with the crew is described is nicely done.
This Christmas Fayre sounds really nice, also buying a tree and decorating the house, celebrating Christmas together is what gives this book the Christmas flair. It is nicely written but for me there could have been even more.
So a nice read, predictable but I enjoyed the funny characters and their interactions.
Who likes small town and family stories should like this quite a lot.
