Inhaltsangabe zu „King: KING SERIES, BOOK ONE“ von T.M. Frazier

Homeless. Hungry. Desperate. Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from. A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, sex or a combination of all three. King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go. King is the first book in a two part series. Tyrant is the name of the second book due out August 2015.

Finally. Finallly! This series was on top of my to-do list for years! I just waited until I had all books to read them back to back and now I do. YayI was so exited to dive into this book, that I began it with a grin on my face :)This book started so good. It´s a bit different. King and Preppy - the way they met and the way they talked- LOVED it. The way the first chapter was made, really made me want to continue reading this book. :DPreppy was definitely my fave character. He was awesome. Funny, weird and caring (as long as it´s about the ppl that mean sth to him). I really fell in love with him. I´d love to have a best friend like him <3King is my No. 2 fave character. Sometimes he acted a bit stupid but that´s human, right?Doe was fine. I didn´t connect to her the way I had to Preppy and King, but there´s still another book to come that can change it ;) But as a Designer myself, that they love to draw and sketch and make their own art is a huge plus point for this book :DI kinda liked Bear but the bit I read about him wasn´t enough to make up my mind. He will have to prove himself to me in the following books :PThe story itself was good. Dark but also fun. This book made my grin, laugh...and cry :( It made me: think "whoa!" a few times. Some authors don´t want to write scenes that could disturb readers but TM Frazier doesn´t and I love it. I want to read about the bad stuff. Stuff that also happens to some in real life. Love TM Frazier for not being afraid to write those scenes. I def. was engrossed in this book and didn´t want to put it down!I kinda knew what was going to happen as some ppl in the TM Frazier Facebook group spoilered (shame on you :P ) and also the titles of Preppy´s books give a clue. "The thing" that happened therefore wasn´t a surprise. But the scene at the closet when Doe found the letter and when she read it out loud- my eyes went blurry, I was tearing up, I was crying silently :( SPOILER: Why did he had to die?! He didn´t deserve it :( :P I´ll miss himThere is one thing I´m kinda disappointed about. :P The pancakes are such a huge deal in the TM Frazier Facebook Group and in general everywhere ppl talk about this series. But now that I´ve read King- I don´t really get it. It was mentioned twice or so. Preppy made them once but he also was cooking other stuff. It´s not like this is a typical Preppy thing :/ But maybe I will understand it better when I read the other books of this series. The ending was- wow. Interesting, sad, confusing and it def. makes me start reading book 2 asap! So many things I want to know!I´m nur sure why I couldn´t rate this book higher. I really loved it but I was kinda missing sth too. Maybe I missed emotions? Like they are really throwing a fit or they are angry or sad or whatever. Maybe those emotions could have been more intense? Also sometimes, I think their conversations were a bit weird? Like nonstop talking? Not sure if I remember correctly but I think it seemed quite unnatural for someone to talk so much at once. Or it´s just me as I barely talk at all. This book has quite a lot spelling/grammar mistakes :( TM Frazier needs a new Editor.I´d love to have this book made into a movie. While reading this book, I had actors for Preppy and Grace in my mind. Doesn´t happen often to me. So I guess this means I want a movie about it! ;) :PAll in all- I can recommend it. Not to everyone, though, as not all love dark reads and are sensitive about a few topics but those who aren´t bothered by it should read this book!
