The Master is the 8th book in the Submissive series and I really enjoyed this one. Even though The Master can be read as standalone, all the books in Submissive Series have a continuity. Sasha and Cole met back in Seduced by Fire right after Sasha had an awful experience with her ex-dom Peter.

Sasha is a submissive that has been traumatized after taking a part in a scene that went wrong. She still carries the scars a careless Dom gave her and she fights to recover every day. When the reins of her retraining are given to Master Cole Johnson, she never expected his methods to work.
Under Cole's hand, Sasha learns to trust again; she learns to enjoy once more her submissive side, and most importantly, she begins to crave being under Cole's control.

So throughout this installment, we see how Cole is able to heal Sasha, make her feel safe and secure while finding what she needs and craves out of the lifestyle. It's also Sasha who's able to help 'heal' Cole as he's come out of an eight year relationship recently and needs to find what works for him too.

Overall, I enjoyed The Master, certain miscommunication issues bothered me, but all in all I enjoyed it. Tara Sue Me can do no wrong in my book. I also loved seeing other characters from her previous books. The Master is exceptionally written, emotionally charged and achingly erotic.

I give The Master by Tara Sue Me 4.5 stars.
