One of my favourite discworld novels! One of the world's greatest gods, Om, worshipped by a whole Empire (complete with an inquisition that burns the infidels, impressive temples and gargantuan statues, loads of commandments, hundreds of prophets...) comes down to the disc, only to notice that he is considerably weaker there than intended... his earthly power depends on true believers, and as it appears, despite everything, he has just one left: Brutha the novice. And thus the Great God Om becomes a one-eyed turtoise, constantly in danger of being eaten. It's just totally hilarious, and so are Om's and Brutha's discussions about prophets, commandments, gods and humans, religion and the limits of godly power.
