Without the author's comment after the story, I would have had a hard time figuring out some parts and scenes of the story. Reading the first pages, I wasn't quite sure what kind of story I got myself into here. Some tricky sentences and choice of vocabulary meant a real challenge for my already working overtime brain cells. Which reminded me that even after decades of reading English remains a foreign language and I will never stop learning its endless subtleties. Which leads me to the conclusion that the author is a damn skilled writer who knows how to craft his words into perfection.
That said, the story really blew me away, spiraling down not only into some dark, but rather pitch black abysses of the mind. While the author's comment shed some light onto my various question marks, it did not ease the bleak mood which accompanied me the rest of the day. Highly recommended!
