The old village well is just a curiosity - something to attract tourists intrigued by stories of lost treasure, or visitors just making a wish. Unless something alien and terrifying could be lurking inside the well? Something utterly monstrous that causes nothing but death and destruction? But who knows the real truth about the well?

Once again another very nice ‘alien-life-form-on-earth’ novel. I really liked it. The Doctor and Martha are very well written and it’s a very “atmospheric” setting. It has, however, a few more on the boring side passages, due to the OCs, but that could be just me. I’m pretty picky when it comes to OCs. I want to read about The Doctor, not about the life and death of some OC I don’t really care for that much. I mean, I can see how OCs are necessary means of writing, but I don’t like it when there are whole chapters only about the OCs. Again, that’s just my – totally subjective – opinion. Other than that 'Wishing Well' is a very straight forward, no-twists-and-turns novel. No real surprises, but entertaining nevertheless.
