The Erudite manipulated the Dauntless to make them kill most of the Abnegation, but Tris could stop them. Now she, Four and Caleb are on the run, knowing they are now enemies of the Erudite, who wants to control the faction system.

The books starts there where the last one ended and continues in high speed. It gives us almost no time to stop, to slow down, because Tris almost never stops. She's desperate, and sick of guilt, and furious about the Erudite attack and desperately wants to stop Jeanine. And Tris is amazing: She's not just a tough and brave leader, she's human. She show lots of different emotions, and even she's dauntless and trained to use a gun, she shows that people aren't machines and just can't kill each other easily. She tries everything to save the people she's loves, she's selfless and brave and intelligent. She's a true divergent.

I liked the book, I liked the characters (or hated them, like Eric). They are complex and good characterised. The plot twists are really good and unexpected things happend. Everything is more unstructured, more complicated and chaotic than in the first book. Maybe more brutal, but also more about the people and their relationships. Roth didn't just put lots of action in the book but also cared for the persons, gave them hints and edges and a story. That's great, that makes the books more alive.

It was good to read and after a while I just couldn't stop. I really enjoyed it, but I think I liked the first one more. I can't really say why, I just think something was missing, something was to much. Everything happend to fast, things went on to quickly and gave us to little time to understand. Maybe it was also the fact for me that I just saw the film first and them read the book. I liked the film in the first place, but not really after I read the book. It's a good one by itself, but it feels like they changed the entire story. And maybe that ruined the book a little bit for me, make me enjoy it a little bit less. Still, the series is great and I definetly want to know how everything ends.
