Bücher mit dem Tag "six duchies"

It was definitely one of the best Re-Reads ever and this year it really is the best Re-Read, a highlight of my reading year.

Robin Hobb uses a slow type of writing - but it's just her way to develop characters and plot so at the end of the story you just want to start with the next book of the series. But what is this series about?

Assassins's Apprentice is the first book of the Farseer Trilogy and was written by the American author Robin Hobb. The protagonist is Fitz, a bastard of Prince Chivalry Farseer and because of that without any future. Fitz has inherited the magic of the Farseer family, he is able to connect with animals in a way thats not appropriate to a young man. One day he comes to the castle of his family and get the chance (and the duty) to become the apprentice of Chade, the Royal Assassin.

I really enjoyed reading this one.

EN: And now the world of Relam of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb continues, only this time we accompany the characters around the Live Trader Ship. This time it is written in the third person and we accompany different characters who play a role. I couldn't put this book aside, I loved it and found every line of it really exciting. I was particularly fascinated by the different dynamics of the characters we got to know. Also the idea with the soul ship and that you can talk to it and feel a connection to it. It felt like I was part of the story myself. I liked Althea best, I liked her self-confident manner and how she stands up for the ship and also her thirst for adventure. But I also liked Wintrow over the course of the book, especially how he grows in himself and learns to love the ship. With the pirate, on the other hand, it took me a while to understand but it got better as the book went on. But I really liked everything I liked the views we got both on the land and on the lake. And political intrigues in particular came into their own here, as did the twist between trader families and what role it plays there. Overall, Ship of Magic was a good start and after what happened and what really tore me, I'm curious what to expect in the second part.

DE: Und nun geht’s weiter mit der Welt der Relam of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb nur dieses mal begleiten wir die Charakter rund um die Live Trader Ship. Dieses mal wird es in der dritten Person geschrieben und wir begleiten verschiedene Charakter die eine Rolle spielen. Dieses Buch konnte ich nicht zu Seite legen ich mochte und fand jede Zeile davon wirklich Spannend. Besonders haben mir die verschiedenen Dynamiken der Charaktere die wir kennenlernen durften fasziniert. Auch die Idee mit dem Seelen Schiff und das man mit ihm sprechen kann und eine Verbindung zu ihm spürt. Es kam rüber als wäre ich selbst teil der Geschichte. Am besten hat mir Althea gefallen ich mochte ihre Selbstbewusste Art und wie sie für denn Schiff einstehen will und auch ihre Abenteuerlust. Aber auch Wintrow hat mir ihm laufe des Buches gefallen besonders wie er an sich selbst wachst und lernt das Schiff zu lieben. Mit dem Pirat dagegen habe ich noch eine weile gebraucht ihn zu verstehen aber es wurde besser im laufe des Buches. Aber mir hat wirklich alles gut gefallen ich mochte die Sichten die wir bekommen haben sowohl auf dem Land als auch auf dem See. Und besonders Politischen Intrigen sind hier gut zu Geltung gekommen und auch der Twist zwischen denn Trader Familien und was es da für eine Rolle spielt. Im ganzen war Ship of Magic ein guter Start und nachdem was alles passiert ist und mich wirklich mit gerissen hat bin ich gespannt was mich im zweiten Teil erwartet.

The Farseer trilogy continues the dramatic tale of piracy, serpents, love and magic. The Vestrit family's liveship, Vivacia, has been taken by the pirate king, Kennit. Held captive on board, Wintrow Vestrit finds himself competing with Kennit for Vivacia's love as the ship slowly acquires her own bloodlust. Leagues away, Althea Vestrit has found a new home aboard the liveship Ophelia, but she lives only to reclaim the Vivacia and with her friend, Brashen, she plans a dangerous rescue. Meanwhile in Bingtown, the fading fortunes of the Vestrit family lead Malta deeper into the magical secrets of the Rain Wild Traders. And just outside Bingtown, Amber dreams of relaunching Paragon, the mad liveship ... 

EN: Now we come to the second part of the Live Trader Ship Trilogy and we follow the same characters in the first part. After the events in the first book, things slowly come to a head and this book in particular has it all. The political intrigues were terrific the way Robin Hobb writes it you just can't get rid of it and especially during the course of the book I always had the feeling that nobody is safe. Althea has again convinced me very positively of herself I love the way she fights for her rights. I also liked Wintrow, even if I had wished he would listen more to his instincts and try to tell the ship that too. Kennit is an interesting character even if I'm not a fan of him personally because his actions only have one goal, I still think he is really well done as a character and especially the way he gives us doubts whether he is good or bad . Other characters have made a big change in the course of the book, especially The Vestrits,  I found really good. This book didn't grab me as much as the first part but it was pretty well structured because all the perspectives on sea and land were really good and just made me feel like I was a part of it and I especially liked how slow it was put everything together and what came out of it. I'm really looking forward to the last part and can't wait to read on.

DE: Nun kommen wir zum zweiten Teil der Live Trader Ship Trilogie und wir folgen wir beim ersten Teil die gleichen Charaktere. Nach denn Ereignissen in denn ersten Buch spitzt sich die Dinge langsam zusammen und besonders dieses Buch hat es in sich. Die Politische Intrigen waren grandios die Art wie Robin Hobb es schreibt kann man einfach nicht ablegen und besonders hatte ich im laufe des Buches immer das Gefühl niemand ist sicher. Althea hat mich auch hier wieder sehr Positiv von sich überzeugt ich liebe ihre Art wie sie für ihre Recht Kämpft. Auch Wintrow mochte ich auch wenn ich mir wünscht hätte er würde mehr auf seine Instinkte hören und versuchen dem Schiff ebenfalls das zu ermitteln. Kennit ist ein Interessanter Charakter auch wenn ich kein Fan von ihm persönlich bin da seine Handlungen nur ein Ziel haben finde ich dennoch er ist wirklich gut gemacht als Charakter und besonders die Art die er uns vermittel lässt einen selbst zweifel ob er nun gut oder böse ist. Auch andere Charakter haben eine große Änderung gemacht im laufe des Buches besonders die Vestrit fand ich wirklich gut. Dieses Buch hat mich zwar nicht so gepackt wie der erste Teil dennoch war es ziemlich gut aufgebaut denn die ganzen Perspektiven auf See und Land waren wirklich gut und hat mir einfach dieses Gefühl gegeben als wäre ich ein Teil davon und besonders mochte ich auch wie sich langsam alles zusammen setzt und was so herausgekommen ist. Ich bin wirklich gespannt auf denn letzten Teil und kann es kaum abwarten gleich weiter zu lesen.

Regal has stripped the kingdom of its riches and retired to the inland city of Tradeford. Of Verity, on his quest to find the legendary Elderlings, there has been no word; Molly, Kettricken and the Fool have all vanished.
Unless Fitz can find Verity and help him in his quest, the Six Duchies will perish and there will be no safe place to live.

EN: Now we come to the last part of the Faseer trilogy before we continue. Here, too, it starts exactly where it left off in the second part and we have to live with the consequences that have happened. Again we accompany Fitz even if he had difficulties being himself at the beginning because he first has to find himself again. Nevertheless, I liked him here again and his adventure in particular was good, even if it dragged itself through something it was still not boring because we always met new information and people who played a role. But here, too, things only got off to a thrilling start in the second part and I especially liked how everything is connected and again not. All in all, I was positively surprised again at the world that Robin Hobb created and how Fitz is connected in everything. It was really good and I had fun and I can't wait to read Fitz's story again soon and see what else we can expect with him, but now The Live Ship Trilogy follows first.

DE: Nun kommen wir zum letzten Teil der Faseer Trilogie bevor es dann weiter geht. Auch hier beginnt es genau dort wo es aufgehört hat im zweiten Teil und wir haben mit denn Konsequenzen zu leben die passiert sind. Wieder begleiten wir Fitz auch wenn er am Anfang hatte Schwierigkeiten sich selbst zu sein da er erst wieder sich zu finden muss. Dennoch mochte ich ihn auch wieder hier und besonders sein Abenteuer war gut auch wenn es sich zwischen durch etwas gezogen hat war es dennoch nicht langweilig denn wir haben immer neue Informationen und Menschen getroffen die eine Rolle spielen. Aber auch hier ging es dann erst wieder im zweiten Teil spannend los und besonders hat mir gefallen wie alles zusammen hängt und wieder nicht. Im ganzen war ich wieder Positiv überrascht über die Welt die Robin Hobb erschaffen hat und wie Fitz in allem zusammenhängt. Es war wirklich gut und es hat mir Spaß gemacht und ich kann kaum abwarten bald wieder in Fitz Geschichte zu lesen und zu sehen was uns noch mit ihm erwartet aber jetzt folgt erst mal The Live Ship Trader Trilogie. 

Ich bin ein Riesen-Fan von Robin Hobb, besonders von jenen Romanen, die von Fitz und dem Narr handeln, und auch der 2. Band dieser Trilogie hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Die Freundschaf von Fitz und dem Narr ist so tiefreichend, so innig, so dramatisch, so romantisch, dass ich oft nur noch seufzen konnte. Daher hat es mich auch ganz schön mitgenommen, als die beiden sich zum ersten seit 5 Büchern zerstreiten und das Auseinanderbrechen ihrer Freundschaft war für mich nur schwer zu ertragen.

Wie immer fährt Hobb mit vielen liebenswerten, tiefgründigen , liebevoll ausgearbeiteten Figuren auf, die einfach in jeder Linie überzeugen. Alles ist so detailreich und hingabevoll beschrieben und erzählt, dass man so richtig in die Geschichte eintauchen kann. Und der Schreibstil von Hobb ist so träumerisch und leidenschaftlich. Ihr scheinen als Autorin nie die richtigen Worte für ihre Dialoge, Beschreibungen, Szenen und Erzählungen zu fehlen.

Auch der Spannungsboden wird mit jedem Kapitel wie verzwickter. Politische Machenschaften, Herzschmerz-Drama, Beziehungsprobleme, alte Schuld und Scham, unerfüllte Träume, romantische Hoffnungen, Humor, Hofintrigen, überraschende Wendungen... hier fehlt es einfach an Nichts.

Das einzige, das mich etwas gestört hat, waren die ellenlangen Beschreibungen von Kleidern, Schmuck und Shminke, die die Leute für jeden Anlass trugen.

So, und jetzt muss ich mich gleich auf Band 3 stürzen.

Bold though it is, Althea's scheme may be in vain. For her beloved "Vivacia "will face the most terrible confrontation of all as the secret of the liveships is revealed. It is a truth so shattering, it may destroy the "Vivacia "and all who love her, including Althea's nephew, whose life already hangs in the balance.

EN: Now we come to the last part of the Live Trader Ship and here we also follow several views and it continues with the events that happened in the second part. At the beginning it was a bit exciting because a lot has happened but important information has become clear and certain factors that now make sense have come into light. Especially Althea in this volume struggled, and here I liked her even if she could sometimes think about something instead of acting. Nevertheless, I liked her here again and especially in the second half of the book she showed a lot of strength and courage. Wintrow, on the other hand, I found something lost at the beginning because I didn't really know what to do right now, but he also got stronger from time to time. Kennit, on the other hand, was again not my favorite for me in either of the previous books, even if we finally learned more about him here, I still didn't like some of the deeds he did. I also liked the other characters like Reyn and Malta were able to convince me very much in this volume. And as for the story, I was really surprised because some things came into light that surprised me a lot and I had some emotional moments. Overall, I thought it was good and really had fun reading the whole trilogy and getting to know the world of the Live Trader Ship. I am curious how this world will grab other volumes and I can't wait to see some characters again. And I still want to warn you, although you should set the trigger warning for the whole trilogy because it is high fantasy and some scenes are tough, but part 3 is especially tough.

DE: Nun kommen wir bereits zum letzten Teil der Live Trader Ship und auch hier folgen wir wieder mehrere Sichten und es geht weiter mit denn Ereignissen die im zweiten Teil passiert ist. Der Anfang war etwas auftreibend da vieles passiert ist aber auch nicht dennoch sind wichtige Informationen klar geworden und bestimmt Faktoren die jetzt einen Sinn ergeben sind ans Licht gekommen. Besonders Althea in diesem Band hatte zu Kämpfen auch hier mochte ich sie auch wenn sie manchmal etwas nachdenken könnte statt zu handeln. Dennoch mochte ich sie auch hier wieder und besonders in der zweiten Hälfte des Buches hat sie sehr viel stärke und Mut bewiesen. Wintrow dagegen habe ich am Anfang etwas verloren gefunden da nicht wirklich wusste was er genau jetzt tun soll aber auch er wurde von Zeit zu Zeit stärker. Kennit dagegen war für mich wieder beiden vorigen Bücher nicht mein Favorit auch wenn man hier endlich mehr über ihn erfahren hatte mochte ich dennoch einige Taten nicht die er getan hat. Auch die anderen Charaktere haben mir gefallen wie Reyn und Malta konnten mich sehr von sich überzeugen in diesem Band. Und was die Geschichte angeht war ich wirklich überrascht denn es sind einige Sachen ins Licht gekommen die haben mir sehr überrascht und ich hatte einige Emotionale Momente. Im ganzen fand ich es gut und hatte wirklich Spaß die ganze Trilogie zu lesen und die Welt der Live Trader Ship kennenzulernen. Ich bin gespannt wie diese Welt noch denn anderen weiteren Bände packt und kann es kaum abwarten vielleicht einige Charaktere wieder zu sehen. Und ich will euch noch warnen zwar sollte man die ganze Trilogie Trigger Warnung setzten da es High Fantasie und einige Szenen dabei die hart sind dennoch hat es besonders teil 3 in sich.

Dies ist der Auftakt zur zweiten Trilogie um FitzChivalry Farseer, in dem er nach Jahren der Isolation wieder in die Machenschaften am königlichen Hof involviert wird. Während die erste Buchreihe gerade durch die Leiden, welche Fitz ertragen musste, ungemein spannend war, so dass man die Bücher kaum aus der Hand legen konnte, geht Frau Hobb es hier gemächlich an und das Buch zieht sich über die erste Hälfte, ohne dass viel spannendes passiert. Dann zieht das Tempo aber an und man kann auch dieses Buch kaum noch aus der Hand legen. Ich bin nun jedenfalls gespannt, wie es in der Fortsetzung Golden Fool weitergeht.

Auch das dritte Buch dieser Trilogie hat mich völlig umgehauen und platt gemacht. Noch nie hat mich die Geschichte eines Romanhelden so ergriffen wie die von FitzChivalry. Und noch nie zuvor hat mich eine Freundschaft in einem Buch oder einem Film so tief berührt wie die von Fitz und dem Narr.
Hin und wieder gab es Ereignisse, die vorhersehbar waren, aber es gab auch viele, die völlig überraschend und unerwartet kamen. Auch in diesem Roman geizt Robin Hobb nicht mit Intrigen, verzwickten Handlungssträngen, komplizierten Ausgangssituationen, herzschmerzendem Drama und liebenswerten Figuren. Obwohl die Geschichte mega spannend ist, ist sie für mich doch irgendwie ein wenig in den Hintergrund gerückt, weil mir die Freundschaft von Fitz und dem Narr unter Haut und Knochen gegangen ist. Selbst wenn ich das Buch gerade nicht gelesen habe, musste ich ständig über die beiden nachdenken. Deshalb war ich am Ende auch total am Boden zerstört.
Jedoch muss ich den Schluss etwas bemängeln. Es ist zwar schön, wie sich nach sechs Büchern all die losen Enden endlich zusammenbinden (ausser eben die von Fitz und dem Narr), doch ging es mir dabei etwas zu schnell. Besonders, weil Robin Hobb sich immer sehr viel Zeit nimmt, die Gefühlswelt ihrer Figuren bis ins kleinste Detail zu beleuchten, und nie die Mühe scheut, ihre Protagonisten so richtig lange so richtig fest leiden zu lassen. Ich hätte mir etwas mehr romantische Details von der Beziehung zwischen Molly und Fitz gewünscht, da die beiden bis hierher doch so viele Schmerzen und Enttäuschungen hatten ertragen müssen. Auch der Narr ist mir etwas zu schnell und zu unglimpflich von der Bühne verschwunden. Zwar leidet Fitz unter der Trennung am Anfang sehr, doch kommt er mir etwas zu schnell darüber hinweg.
Aber das sind nur klitzekleine Mängel, die der Grossartigkeit dieser Bücher kaum schadet. Robin Hobb ist eine ganz Grosse und die Bücher um Fitz sind offiziell meine neuen Lieblingsbücher. Deshalb bin ich jetzt total deprimiert, weil ich diese Reihe auch schon fertig gelesen habe, aber ich freue mich auch schon total auf die nächste - und hoffentlich nicht die Letzte - Trilogie vom Narr und dem Fitzchen.

The kingdom is also under assault from within, as treachery threatens the throne of the ailing king. In this time of great danger, the fate of the kingdom may rest in Fitz’s hands—and his role in its salvation may require the ultimate sacrifice.

EN: After the events of the first part, it starts a little again here and it pulls a bit at the beginning. Again we accompany Fitz's point of view and this time he's even more in the thick of it than in the first part. At the beginning he clearly has problems with himself, but he admits that it is not an obstacle and I liked him again here, especially the new friendships he made. The first part of the story is a bit long, it happens from time to time but mostly we only get politics and how we should deal with raiders. Which was okay, sometimes I would have wished for more, but I found the information good and it definitely played a role in the series. Still, the second part of the book got a lot better, especially I liked Fitz in this book. As far as the other characters are concerned, I was able to get a little more insight into it, but I like that because you're never sure who has good intentions and who doesn't. The end surprised me even if I partially expected it and somehow not yet felt in the course of reading what was going to happen. All in all it was good and I'm curious what to expect in the third part.

DE: Nach denn Ereignissen der ersten Teil fängt es hier wieder etwas leicht an und es am Anfang zieht es sich etwas. Wieder begleiten wir die Sicht von Fitz und dieses mal ist er noch mehr mittendrin als beim ersten Teil. Am Anfang hat er deutlich Problem mit sich selbst dennoch gesteht er sich ein das es kein Hindernis ist und ich mochte ihn auch wieder hier besonders die neuen Freundschaften die er geschlossen hat. Der erste Part der Geschichte zieht sich etwas es passiert zwar ab und zu was aber meistens bekommen wir nur Politik und wie wir mit denn Raiders umgehen sollen. Was okay war manchmal hätte ich mehr gewünscht dennoch fand ich die Informationen gut und sie spielen bestimmt eine Rolle während der Reihe. Dennoch wurde es im zweiten Part des Buches um einiges besser insbesondere mochte ich Fitz in diesem Buch. Was die anderen Charaktere betrifft konnte ich mir mehr ein Einblick machen dennoch mag ich denn teil das man sich nie sicher ist wer hat jetzt gute Absichten und wer nicht. Das Ende hat mich dann doch Überrascht auch wenn ich teilweise damit gerechnet habe und irgendwie nicht dennoch habe ich im laufe des Lesens gespürt was großes wird auf uns zu kommen. Im ganzen war es gut und ich bin gespannt was mich im dritten Teil erwartet.
