Bücher mit dem Tag "stroke"

Bei The Lucky One kann ich nichts negatives sagen.Dies ist mein erstes Buch von Sparks das ich im Original gelesen habe und es war einfach perfekt!Der Schreibstil kommt noch besser zur Geltung und die Geschichte war wunderschön!Die Charaktere waren sehr sympathisch und man konnte sich gut hineinversetzen.Das Thema mit dem Hundehotel hat mir sehr gut gefallen und es hat alles einfach gepasst.Natürlich hätte ich dem Ex von Beth gerne mehr als einmal eine gescheuert oder Logan gesagt er solle doch endlich mal die Sache mit dem Foto erklären.Zwischendurch gab es ein paar Rückblicke die sehr interessant waren.Gegen Ende nimmt die Spannung noch etwas zu und man fiebert richtig mit.Da man weiss das Sparks nicht immer Happy Ends schreibt,bleibt es wirklich bis zum Schluss spannend.Ich finde nicht das das Buch ein kitschiger Liebesroman ist weil es sehr vielschichtig ist und es ist für ein breites Leserpublikum gemacht.Von mir eine klare Leseempfehlung! ACHTUNG ‼️ Zweiter Teil der Lords of the Underworld - Reihe Gena Showalter hat mich definitiv überzeugt! Ihr Schreibstil hat Wiedererkennungswert und kann mich in den Bann ziehen.Die Charaktere können wirklich überzeugen und man fühlt richtig mit! Kopfkino vom Feinsten, kann ich da nur sagen. Warum ich dann „ nur“ 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ vergebe? Ganz einfach... für die volle Punktzahl darf das Buch einfach keine langatmigen Stellen oder Hänger haben. Auch wenn es hier wenige Schwachstellen sind. Ich kann das Buch sehr empfehlen ( um die ganze Reihe zu empfehlen habe ich zu wenige Teile gelesen. Aber ich wage zu behaupten es könnte ein Renner werden ). I normally don't read non-fiction, but I won "Leaving before the rains come" in a giveaway and then was interested in the book.

Author Alexandra Fuller writes about her childhood in Africa and her life in the USA nowadays. She describes growing up on a farm and her dull life with husband and children and there is a connection in between all these different parts of her life, however I would have liked a more visible golden thread. It felt all a bit jumbled, but I suppose it was constructed with great care.

I never understood how people can write about their lives and share them with the whole world. Marriage problems, job problems, family problems. I wouldn't want everyone I know to find out about that, so I have respect for Fuller for sharing her life and experiences with us readers. 
The whole book is overshadowed by a negative atmosphere and in the end it comes to a climax. I guess writing about her experiences must have been some kind of therapy for Fuller. She seems to take it all better than she probably has. 

The parts I really found interesting were the ones where Fuller describes her life in Africa. It's completely different from growing up in Europe and that's the only life I've ever known. 
The rest was rather boring for me. I think other people's problems and lives can be interesting, but it was all too far away from me. Even fiction seems to be nearer than the life of a woman who lives just in another country. And I don't mean this as criticism, it's just a fact.

As I've never been one for non-fiction, this might just not be my kind of book.
I give 3 stars and hope that other readers can enjoy the book more than I did.

Achtung! 2. TEIL der KGI-REIHE Ich habe angefangen zu lesen und war sofort gefesselt!Nur kurz musste ich mich umorientieren weil es doch und zum Glück in eine etwas andere Richtung ging als der erste Teil.Wenn der vorherige Teil sehr gut war, ist es sehr schwierig qualitativ gleich oder besser zu sein.Und doch gefiel mir dieser zweite Teil auf eine andere Weise genau so gut wenn nicht sogar besser.Es liegt vielleicht auch daran das die Autorin die Protagonisten einfach so sympathisch herüberbringt.Was auch ein Pluspunkt ist : man lernt die Nebenprotagonisten näher kennen und weiss dann schon wie sie " ticken" wenn es dann um ihre Geschichte geht. Von mir eine unbedingte Leseempfehlung und volle Punktzahl! On Dublin Street is about Jocelyn, a young woman who lost her parents and baby sister when she was 14, and who still has trust issues with everyone she knows. In fact, she doesn't let anyone get near enough to know her. I was really looking forward to reading On Dublin Street. There were so many amazing reviews on this book. 5 stars here, there, and everywhere. So I thought, I was going to love this book. Then I read it and I wanted to choke the life out of the heroine Joss. Jocelyn Butler aka Joss just about ruined this book for me with her emotional constipation. Don't get me wrong she had a lot of bad things happen to her. Her parents, little sister and best friend died when she was a teen. So some emotional issues is totally understandable, but damn.

I can honestly say that I did enjoy this one. This was a hot and sexy little romance with enough of a story to balance out the two people dancing around their sexual tension. Unfortunately I really didn't like it.

Overall, On Dublin Street was a disappointing read that i really hoped i would enjoy but didn't. The main characters felt cliche to me and i hated them most of the time. The plot was also flat and old. But the style of witting and sex made it so it was an OK read.
