Bücher mit dem Tag "villain"

„Disney Villains – Buch 1“ hat mich wirklich überrascht. Was auf den ersten Blick wie eine märchenhafte Geschichte wirkt, entpuppt sich als trauriges, emotionales Drama, das zeigt, wie aus Liebe Hass werden kann. 💔

Die Autorin schafft es, bekannte Figuren in einem völlig neuen Licht zu zeigen – nachvollziehbar, verletzlich und menschlich. Besonders berührt hat mich, wie stark Emotionen und Schmerz hier spürbar werden. Eine Geschichte, die zeigt, dass selbst Bösewichte einmal liebten … und dass gebrochene Herzen manchmal die dunkelsten Schatten werfen. 🖤

Ein Buch, das nachhallt und einen nicht so schnell loslässt.

I quite liked the new idea of just morally grey characters. Everyone is flawed and tries to live their life in the cruel world they are. All of the seven champions are attempting to to survive behind the role their family and story decided for them. There is no clear villain or hero - even Briony the self proclaimed hero acts villainous and maims her sister just to be the champion of her family. Just to write her own story and ending. While she fought to be the champion her best friend gets used as the mascot of the curse they have to participate in after she got pushed into the spot light. Some others like Gavin are fighting to prove that they are alive and should not be forgotten, even though his own family sees him as a living corpse with no hope to survive the curse and fights. The ex boyfriend of Briony tries to acts as noble as possible while training to kill for the High Magick which will get under the control of the winner and stays the secon of command of her. The last important champion is the monster of the villains, the nightmare of killers Alistair who gets pushed into the role so his family can stay atop. But he just participates with no real motive to stay alive after learning of the grotesque secrets of his family and the loss of his brother. 

We are seeing every perspective and reason of the participants, feel the true angst of not beeing able to trust even your close friends and the conflict to kill or be killed- even if those are your loved ones. 

The Book shows the true cruelty of people if given the chance to get away with it. There are a lot of sacrifices, blooming and restarting feeling with high stakes. The price of survival gets paid in blood and trauma.

Will the curse kill them? Will they kill each other? Or can they stop this illicit tornament?

If you want fluff look elsewhere for it, because here you will get how twisted love can be. Would you kill your loved one or kill yourself for your loved one?

Inhalt: Dominique ist schön und clever. Reich und berühmt möchte sie aber auch noch sein. Dafür gründet sie die Organisation "Evil Miss Universe" und häuft durch wagemutige und gerissene Coups Vermögen und Aufmerksamkeit an. Doch wo es Schurken gibt, gibt es auch Helden. Zum Beispiel den amerikanischen selbsternannten Superhelden Mister Right.

Eindruck: Das Cover ist ein absoluter Eyecatcher und der Grund, warum ich dieses Buch in die Hand genommen habe. Das ist aber leider schon das größte Highlight des Buches. Die Grundidee hat mir gefallen. Eine Helden-Schurken-Geschichte in der realen Welt, ohne echte Superkräfte, außerirdische Technik etc. (sprich kein Marvel, DC oder X-Men etc.) Einfach nur Menschen, die sich die aktuellen Gegebenheiten für ihre jeweiligen Ziele zu Nutze machen. 

Die Umsetzung war leider oft sehr langatmig. Die Geschichte wird aus der Perspektive einer Person erzählt, die an der Handlung überhaupt nicht beteiligt war, sondern diese von den Hauptcharakteren erzählt bekommen hat, um dann dieses Buch zu schreiben. Dementsprechend entfernt und "abgekühlt" wirkt die Erzählform. Ich hatte nicht das Gefühl, direkt dabei zu sein, sondern quasi darüber in einer alten Zeitung zu lesen... Dementsprechend kam bei mir keine Spannung auf und ich konnte nie ganz mit den Charakteren und der Geschichte warm werden. Es wurden immer wieder interessante Begriffe/Begebenheiten erwähnt, aber man wird immer wieder mit einem "darauf gehe ich aber noch im Kapitel xy ein" vertröstet. Die Planung und Durchführung der Coups war eigentlich das spannendste der ganzen Geschichte.

Ein kleiner Pluspunkt ist, dass es keine Enemies to Lovers-Geschichte ist, wie es der Klappentext meiner Meinung nach leicht andeutet. Mir hat gefallen, dass die Protagonistin eine unabhängige und schroffe Person ist, die sich nichts gefallen lässt. Was dagegen wieder etwas enttäuschend war, war die Motivation der Protagonistin, warum sie überhaupt zu einer Superschurkin werden wollte. 

Fazit: Kann man lesen, muss man aber nicht unbedingt.
