I didn't really know whether to appoint three stars or four. I decided for three and here is why: God hates us all is the book that Hank Moody from Californication wrote and that turned into the movie A crazy little thing called love. So far. It starts off with a weird love story that turns into desaster. Both main characters - each on their own - get from one desaster to the next in their lives until they meet and fall in love again. It works out fine for some time but then it ends with one of them going kind of back to where it started and the other finally finding some peace with "normal" life. The language is VERY explicit, as is what is happening. You probably have to be American to grasp all the details about some sort of behaviour and about New York. However, you get an insight in a life that "normal" people do not know anything about. This way, you also kind of get an understanding, but not quite since it turns out that normal life - whether being happy or not - is what the characters strive for. Whatever normal means to them.
